Earlier this week, Liverpool’s first underground bin site was officially opened in Battenberg Street in Kensington. The site was opened by Councillor Liam Robinson and gave local residents the opportunity to try out the bins for the first time! This is the first phase of 12 underground bins sites across the city of Liverpool and will change the way residents of Kensington now dispose of their general and recycling waste.
This is phase one of a two year programme which will see underground bins installed in 90 locations over two years to reduce black bin bag waste in the city.
The programme will continue to be rolled out as a cleaner waste solution for over 27,000 terraced properties.
