This year Liverpool will host the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. The Grand Final will take place in the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.
The party has started with the opening of the Eurovision Village at the Pier Head today, and over the past 2 weeks LSSL staff in various service areas have been doing their bit to help make sure Liverpool is ready to welcome the world!
Here’s what we’ve been up to in the build up to the big event…
Jet washing and graffiti removal in areas of high footfall and places of interest
Enhanced cutback from the Grounds teams
Enhanced cleansing and fly tipping removal from Street Cleansing
Installation of 40+ x new 240litre bins – 50% in city centre and 50% in wards
Installation of 10 x refurbished 120litre bins on the network
Installing of 100 various sized and shaped planters
We will also be providing 60 x new event bins for the event!
