Love Parks Week runs from July 28th to August 6th and is an annual campaign by Keep Britain Tidy to celebrate parks, green spaces, and the dedicated volunteers & workers that look after them all year round.
On behalf of Liverpool City Council, LSSL maintain the city’s parks, greenspaces, cemeteries, crematoria, walled gardens, trees & woodlands, playgrounds and all of the city’s highway grass verges.
The work that our Greenspaces team carry out includes grassland management, shrub-bed and hedge maintenance, seasonal bedding displays, interments, playground inspections and repairs, arboricultural services (tree inspection, pruning & planting), herbicide control, waste management, lake cleansing and much more.
In the spirit of Love Parks Week, here’s some wonderful news…
Hat-Trick for Liverpool at the ‘Park Oscars’!
Sefton Park and Stanley Park have both retained the coveted ‘Green Flag’ status for the 16th year in a row, while Chavasse Park has received the prize for the 11th successive year!
Our LSSL Greenspaces staff play a vital role in maintaining our Parks and keeping our spaces looking clean and beautiful.
In light of ‘Love Parks Week’ we’d like to take the opportunity to shine a light on our Greenspaces service this week and express a big huge thanks to everyone working in the service well done for this fabulous achievement.
Here’s some pictures of our beautiful green spaces that we took this week. Why not celebrate Love Parks Week by taking a walk in your favourite one?
