James Axon Plays the Pipes at the Lord Mayor’s Civic Service!

We have a very talented employee amongst us here at LSSL… James Axon from Street Cleansing! James is a member of the Liverpool Scottish Regimental Association and plays the bagpipes at many special events across Liverpool and beyond. He recently played at the Lord Mayor’s Annual Civic Service, and from the pictures you can see what a fantastic job he did.

This particular event takes place every year and the theme was ‘Children and Youth: A Level Field’. The Lord Mayor’s Charity of 2023 is Local Solutions, and the aim for her Mayoral Year is to support young people across the city. This support is vital particularly after the long-term impacts of Covid19 and the current cost of living crisis.

In the same week, HRH Princess Anne visited Southport on Friday to rededicate the town’s war memorial, which honours the fallen from the First World War. Here’s James playing the pipes down Lord Street for the special day!…

Well done James, keep up the fabulous achievements!
