Operation Banger has officially started as of Monday 23rd October. We carry out this work every year in the lead up to Bonfire Night, and the purpose of it is to dismantle the bonfires being built around Liverpool, for the safety of residents and communities.
So far the team have identified 8 small scale bonfires in South Liverpool, 11 in North Liverpool and 5 large scale bonfires citywide. Next week we will see more materials being left at the sites as the bonfires intensify, meaning more inspections and removals will take place. A positive of this operation is that everything we take goes to recycling and is recycled where possible.
