Tommy McArdle attends the Queen’s Garden Party!

In summer, the Queen traditionally hosts three Garden Parties, as a way of recognising and rewarding public service. Our colleague Tommy McArdle from Street Cleansing was awarded a British Empire Medal by The Queen in 2019, for his fantastic work and services to the community in Liverpool!

Tommy has been employed as a street cleansing operative since 2006, and is well known to residents in the Kensington and Old Swan areas. Loved by the local community, he is a recognisable figure on the streets, and is now affectionately known as ‘Sir Tommy of Old Swan’!

After a long wait due to Covid19, Tommy finally attended the Queen’s garden party the other week with his family and had a fantastic time. Congratulations Tommy.
